The Sew Over It Ultimate Shift Dress pattern is a great pattern to use. It has easy to follow instructions and has enough variations to keep you interested. I made the Top version with the long sleeves. It's a really versatile pattern fabric wise. Most light or medium weight woven fabrics, such as cotton, linen, rayon, viscose, wool, crepe or even silk will work. I made this top using our Atelier Brunette Chalk Off White Cotton Cambric. I'm so excited to introduce Dani our Guest Blogger! The Cat's Pyjamas (well, Tee Shirt, really) Despite telling myself I needed to sew my stash before buying new fabric, when I saw the organic cotton Kimsa cat jersey on Material Girl Laura's Instagram feed, I couldn't resist making an order. I was so excited when Laura got in touch to thank me for my order and asked if I would like to write a blog for the website. I didn't have to think twice! Laura very kindly sent me some of the pink jersey (thank you!) so I decided to make two versions of the same pattern: the Ensemble patterns Greco Tee. This pattern was free to email subscribers…

I needed a relatively quick make for my husbands works Christmas party so I decided on an Ebony in our gorgeous Lady McElroy brushstrokes scuba. This fabric is just so beautiful close up. There are so many different shades that make up the brushstrokes. This fabric was simply lovely to sew with. Its nice and snuggly for the colder months and has great structure and drape for making an ebony. I think this dress would be great for many occasions. I love how well it coordinates with black tights too.
