Papercut Kyoto
Saturday 16th February 2019
The Papercut Kyoto has been burning a hole in my Pattern Stash for ages now. I bought it some time ago at a show inspired by one of our lovely customers Nicky who had made a gorgeous version from one of our fabrics. The pattern instructions are simple and…
Pattern Clash Coco
Thursday 31st January 2019
This make was totally inspired by a Boden Top that my Daughters both have. When I first saw it on their Website, I thought to myself I want one of those for myself! The seed was sewn and over the coming weeks I mulled over the make and realised that the garment could be made from remnants. This make was made using two fabrics measuring between 70 and 75 centimetres. I had a look through what I had remnant wise and whilst going through them these two fabrics jumped out together…
Sew Over It Ultimate Trousers made by Adelle
Friday 18th January 2019
Hello, I'm Adelle and I am on a mission to create a handmade wardrobe. I'm so excited to be asked to review this fabric for the Material Girl Laura blog. The Fabric I've struggled finding cotton sateen in the past with the correct ratio of stretch with structure. I look for a cotton that…
The perfect Christmas Party Dress
Friday 21st December 2018
When I set out making the Sew Over It Betty Dress I never realised I would fall head over heels in love with it. I felt like a million dollars in this dress. It is perfect for a Party, Special Meal or Wedding. I decided on making it in the John Kaldor Coffee Stretch Crepe as I wanted something really special with that wow factor that would make me feel like I had bought the dress from somewhere like Reiss or Ted Baker. That is exactly what I got with this…
New Craft House Winter Party
Saturday 8th December 2018
We had so much fun together at the New Craft House Party. I met some lovely people and me and my friends had a super time. I made a True Bias Ogden Cami made in Atelier Brunette Stardust Night Double Cotton Gauze and a Sew Over It Circle Skirt made in a Velvet Upholstery fabric. I think because it was velvet and a bit more bulkier maybe, it didn't fit at first so I cut about 3/8" off the top of the skirt and reattached the waistband and it fit really well then. …
Nina Lee Moselle Ruffle Dress
Sunday 19th August 2018
I was inspired by so many people on Instagram making this pattern, notably Rocco Sienna and Robins Nest, If you don't follow these lovely ladies you must! I really had to get on and get mine ready for my holiday. I knew exactly which fabric I would be using I just needed to get to work. Unfortunately when I should have been sewing this last minute quick sew I was in the dealership…
Thank You Teacher
Wednesday 25th July 2018
So this year I decided I would make my Daughters Teacher a bag to say thank you. I have already made the same Teacher a Tote Bag previously that she uses everyday for School but this time I wanted to make something that she could use for chucking a couple of things in for trips…

This pattern has quickly become a firm favourite of mine. I love everything about it. This time I chose our gorgeous Atelier Brunette Stardust Black Double Cotton Gauze. Its perfect for the hot weather we are currently…
My Stripy Coco
Tuesday 29th May 2018
I had day dreamed about this Tilly And The Buttons Coco Top long enough before I got going with it so I thought I better get a move on and get one done! The Yarn Dyed Light Blue Striped Jersey I used for this top is the most gorgeous blue. Its soft and lovely and washes a dream. I've washed it several times already. On its first outing on a breakfast date…
True Bias Ogden Cami
Friday 11th May 2018
Laura
I had been wanting to make this pattern for some time. I have been so inspired by all the Ogden's being made by people in the Sewing Community. I have been particularly inspired by Button and Pips ever expanding collection of them. Each one beautiful in its own right. You can also find Ogden inspiration on our…
