True Bias Ogden Cami

True Bias Ogden Cami

Friday 11th May 2018

I had been wanting to make this pattern for some time. I have been so inspired by all the Ogden's being made by people in the Sewing Community. I have been particularly inspired by Button and Pips ever expanding collection of them. Each one beautiful in its own right.

You can also find Ogden inspiration on our Hall Of Makes too. There is a particularly gorgeous one featured.

When our [Couture Dreamer Nude Soft Silky Satin Border Print=?Page_ID=3610&id=754386 came in I just knew that it would be right for making an Ogden. It has a fun girly quality to it.

So as far as the pattern goes the instructions are super easy to follow and there are not many pattern pieces to trace or cut out. The hardest part of the whole process, well more fiddly really, especially if like me you didn't have your loop turner, is preparing the straps. The rest is a breeze.

I lengthened my Ogden by about 2.5 inches as I'm a little bit tall and have a longish top half. If it was too short I just would not wear it so I thought it was best to increase the length and alter if needs be.

The fit is probably spot on but I think I would prefer a little more room so the next one I'm going to sew the side seams on a smaller seam allowance as it is here that I think I would benefit from a bit more room.

Before I made this Ogden I would never have entertained a Cami out in the wild on its own and not under other garments. This pattern has changed that. It feels so comfortable to wear and you don't feel underdressed in any way and the floaty style is really flattering.

I plan to make many more of these and whilst I was out with friends today discussing the pattern we touched on the subject of hacking the pattern to a dress so I think I'm also going to try that as well.

Thank you True Bias for an amazing pattern!
