My Dressmakers Ball Frock!

Wednesday 27th March 2019

Vogue V9253 made using our Lady McElroy Serengeti Vogue Linen Look Viscose! Gosh this Dress has got to be the most deliberated make I have ever made. I have chewed the ears off of several of my friends about it including my Husband, who might I add is amazing at helping you to make a decision as he does not hold back with his critique! So much so that I'm considering advertising his services. LOL! Let's talk about the fabric choice now. What a rollercoaster that's been! I had settled on making it in the Lady McElroy Foliage Canopy Crepe, I failed to take the required amount out of stock and it sold…

Papercut Kyoto

Saturday 16th February 2019

The Papercut Kyoto has been burning a hole in my Pattern Stash for ages now. I bought it some time ago at a show inspired by one of our lovely customers Nicky who had made a gorgeous version from one of our fabrics. The pattern instructions are simple and easy to follow and tracing it is super easy…

Pattern Clash Coco

Thursday 31st January 2019

This make was totally inspired by a Boden Top that my Daughters both have. When I first saw it on their Website, I thought to myself I want one of those for myself! The seed was sewn and over the coming weeks I mulled over the make and realised that the garment could be made from remnants. This make was made using two fabrics measuring between 70 and 75 centimetres. I had a look through what I had remnant wise and whilst going through them these two fabrics jumped out together…

The perfect Christmas Party Dress

Friday 21st December 2018

When I set out making the Sew Over It Betty Dress I never realised I would fall head over heels in love with it. I felt like a million dollars in this dress. It is perfect for a Party, Special Meal or Wedding. I decided on making it in the John Kaldor Coffee Stretch Crepe as I wanted something really special with that wow factor that would make me feel like I had bought the…

New Craft House Winter Party

Saturday 8th December 2018

We had so much fun together at the New Craft House Party. I met some lovely people and me and my friends had a super time. I made a True Bias Ogden Cami made in Atelier Brunette Stardust Night Double Cotton Gauze and a Sew Over It Circle Skirt made in a Velvet Upholstery fabric. I think because it was velvet and a bit more bulkier maybe, it didn't fit at first so I cut about 3/8" off the top of the skirt and reattached the waistband and it fit really well then. I was so…

Another Ogden Cami

Saturday 30th June 2018

This pattern has quickly become a firm favourite of mine. I love everything about it. This time I chose our gorgeous Atelier Brunette Stardust Black Double Cotton Gauze. Its perfect for the hot weather we are currently having in the UK and perfect for layering in the colder months. I wanted it to be a touch roomier so I sewed it up on a 3/8 seam instead. With it being gauze and quite a delicate fabric that can sometimes like to fray as a precautionary measure I overlocked all the edges I could once I had done all the staystitching to minimise any…
